About the role
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Machine Learning engineering lead to join our growing team. In this role, you will lead the development and deployment of cutting-edge ML models across a few different focus areas including computer vision/image processing, time series forecasting and data analysis. You will be a key contributor to our AI strategy, driving innovation and pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
How will you make 10x impact:
- Lead the research, design and implementation of machine learning techniques to solve real-world problems for the electric grid
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of talented machine learning engineers and researchers
- Design and implement scalable and efficient machine learning systems for production environments.
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams of engineers, product managers, and domain experts
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in machine learning
What you should have
- Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
- 8+ years of experience in machine learning research and development
- Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and principles, with expertise in computer vision (e.g., object detection, image classification) and/or time series modeling (e.g., forecasting, anomaly detection).
- Experience with deep learning frameworks, techniques and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Jax/Flax)
- Experience with MLOps and deploying machine learning models in production
- Experience with Google Cloud
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- A passion for decarbonizing the electric grid
It would be great if you also have
- PhD in Computer Science or a related field
- Publications in top machine learning conferences or journals
- Contributions to open-source machine learning projects
- Startup experience, or equivalent experience on early stage teams
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $237,000 - $320,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
