The Team

Tapestry, is X’s moonshot for the electric grid.  We are a team of software engineers, power systems experts and clean energy geeks  who are  impatient to tackle climate change head on through our energy system. Tapestry is on a mission to make the world’s electric grid visible so everyone, everywhere can access clean, affordable and  reliable energy. We are working with partners around the world to create AI powered  tools that will help everyone who works with the grid build and manage a carbon-free and secure electricity system.

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced recruiter that can be involved in all areas of the hiring process, from generating pipeline to maintaining a successful offer acceptance rate. You will manage the entire candidate process and will leverage your creative problem solving skills to prioritize your limited time and resources to reach the team’s audacious goals - and yes, our org is growing massively this year!  You will drive hiring ownership of the hiring process, and given space to innovate and educate the team in service of building the most effective recruiting process (and also one that’s unique and quirky to Tapestry) that attracts the best talent to our organization.

How you will make 10x impact

  • Recruit talent in a highly competitive talent market and achieve strategic hiring goals.
  • Full cycle recruitment (from sourcing to recruitment to extending offers)
  • Develop and execute targeted outreach strategies to engage and source high-quality, mission-driven passive talent. 
  • Research and analyze key talent pools within specific markets (like energy and tech), map out talent and industry trends to nurture and attract potential talent. 
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand niche role requirements and strategize pipeline generation efforts.
  • Provide an efficient and high-touch experience for every candidate from application stage to offer, evaluating skill level, driving the interview process and offer process, including reference checks, salary recommendations and closing of candidates.
  • Negotiate complex offers to close candidates by leveraging your experience competing for top technical talent.
  • Communicate effectively with the interview team to ensure preparedness during the interview process. Share and exchange information with all levels of management. 
  • Be experienced and committed to advancing diversity and inclusion

 

What you should have

  • 5 years of experience building teams as an in-house recruiter, with a mix of big tech and start-up experience
  • Stellar past record of hiring ML/AI engineers and general SWEs in record time, and with hard-to-close talent
  • Experience hiring talent in the renewable energy or power systems industry
  • Experienced user of Greenhouse as an ATS system, incl. pulling data reports from the platform
  • Experience closing candidates and negotiating compensation packages
  • Experience managing hiring managers and strong communication
  • Having self-initiative, creativity, perseverance and flexibility
  • Comfort with high rate of change and ability to navigate ambiguity on a regular basis
  • A passion for driving equitable processes & building the best, diverse teams
  • Willingness to be challenged and practice their growth mindset

 

It’d be great if you also had these

  • Experience hiring software engineers in the renewable energy and power systems industry
  • Ability to manage an intern program and university recruiting
  • Experience managing talent acquisition vendors (sourcing, coordinators, etc)
  • Excited about data and metrics, and experience with dashboard creation 
  • Passionate about climate and energy, mission-driven, and to build teams from Day 0

 

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000 - $180,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.
